Rye Castle, old canons, the Norman church with a spire worth climbing

Rye is an ideal spot for families with children of all ages. Kite
surfing, sand castles, swimming and sailing in nearby Camber Sands.
Rye is close to Camber Castle, Bodiham Castle, Dungeoness , Battle
Abbey and the site of the Battle of Hastings, the spendour of
the gardens at Great Ditchley and Sissinghurst, the coastal resorts
of Eastbourne, Hastings (with its great pier, pebble beaches,
fishermen’s huts and large aquarium), Brighton and Broadstairs,
river trips, endless walks, children’s farms, Wildwood (dubbed
by the BBC the best British wildlife centre) and numberless attractions.
Quite apart from the best fish and chips in England, Rye is an
absolutely ideal centre from which to explore East Sussex and
South Kent.
